Kalm Designs fabric masks are made from 100% cotton, are machine washable and their fun patterns add a little whimsy to your wardrobe. They are handmade by my small team in NZ (mum and I) and being a fabric mask help to reduce the impact on the environment from single use masks. There is a light piece of wire in the nose bridge that can be pinched to help shape it over the nose.

Our children's masks come in two sizes small (3-6yrs) and Large (7-12yrs)

All our masks are made using fabrics that we have so patterns may change as some fabric amounts are not large. This is not about fashion - it is about function.

PLEASE NOTE: pattern placement on masks may differ a little from picture - photo is indicative only, also there may be some delays to shipping due to demand. We thank you for your patience.

Please understand that wearing ANY mask does not guarantee you won't contract or transmit the virus to one another, but by creating a barrier that reduces particle spread it does however mitigate the risk you face (and potentially pose to others) in public spaces. Please follow all government guidelines that can be found here:

Read the full guide on how to wear a face mask from the New Zealand Ministry of Health.

1. Ensure your face mask is clean and dry and is not damaged.

2. Before putting on your face mask, clean your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser (containing at least 60 percent alcohol). Ensure your hands are dry.

3. Place the face mask over your nose and mouth and secure with ties or loops. Make sure the mask fits snugly, moulded to your face and around your nose. Make sure the mask fully covers your nose, mouth and chin. Your mask should be comfortable, with no gaps around the mask and your face, and allow you to breathe easily.

4. Clean your hands again (as above).
