This Parenting gig is hard, so mum and dad - go easy on yourselves.
Seriously – we only have to turn on the TV, pick up a magazine or open Social media and there we are bombarded by someone else’s idea of the perfect family. Pictures of kids playing serenely with each other – of mums looking a million dollars gazing lovingly down at their new-born, of happy families prancing through the meadows or playing catch on the beach and snippets of family homes looking pristine with not even a toy out of place……..

I don’t pregnant well!
I see them in magazines, sitting across from me in cafes and on TV. Glowing, beautiful happy pregnant mum's.

Wow!

How I wish I could look and feel like that is what I think as I sit there with my mouth swilling, my head pounding and wishing I could just curl up in bed and hide from the world till this pregnancy is over. To be able to spend it all flat on my back so my ankles would return full stop and I could fit my shoes again.

Isn’t It Funny How The More Advanced We Get The Lonelier We Are.

I was brought up by “the village” we knew our neighbours, my nana lived 3 doors down the street. If my parents weren’t home we would go find a friend to play with or go play with the button tin at nanas – ahhhh the button tin. We would play in the street, walk up the road to our friends place with mum yelling after us “be back before dinner”, and we would cause you don’t want your mum to have to come get you!!
